The WizardBlue Help Desk Information is a client program forming part of the Windows Power Tools tool/utility set.  The primary function HDI is to assist Help Desk staff and general IT support staff with client information that can assist with the initial support of a remote system.  One of the biggest problems in a multi-sited support environment, especially those with roaming users, is correctly identify the problem system.

The HDI program places an icon permanently in the system tray, ready for the user to double-click.  It will then display an administrator configurable window of information ready for the user to read back (or email) to support staff.  As this information is configurable, it can be customised to best suit your business needs by only providing the initial information required by support staff to gain further information.  This is typically items like: Computer name, Current IP address, MAC address, Logged on user, Disk usage, Memory usage and the like.  An example screen is shown below:
